bare nest is a furniture studio that refuses to play the particle-board game. Just solid wood for the heirlooms and dense MDF for the everyday — never the cheap stuff in between.
Materials philosophy
Almost every furniture shop you'll walk into sells particle board. It's the cheapest engineered wood there is, and it shows within two years. bare nest is built on a stricter shortlist — honest MDF where it makes sense, and solid wood where it earns its price.

Eight years on the shop floor taught me one thing: customers don't want the cheapest. They want to know what they're buying. So we built bare nest around two materials we'd put in our own home — and refused the one we wouldn't.
